Our prayer focuses for today have been to pray for unwavering adherence to the “whole counsel of God” despite increasing resistance to truth in the culture as well as for the 2014 elections; that the Church would RISE UP in Unity, in the AUTHORITY Jesus gave us, and be informed, then VOTE for God to have His way.
As I was praying for this evening’s service, the Lord directed me to these two scriptures. In them, we learn how we receive the VICTORY and how to OVERCOME in every area of life; that God desires us to have SUCCESS for our good and for HIS GLORY!
Joshua 1:7-9
7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
1 John 5:2-5
2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
This evening, let’s remember the VICTORY and SUCCESS that we have been promised by God! If we choose to obey the word of God, God is faithful to bring every single promise made in it to pass in our lives! If we do our part, God will certainly do His part! No matter what opposition you face, no matter how impossible things may seem, our God is GREATER! Our God is WILLING and ABLE and NOTHING is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27)!
